The trade in any products containing a range of wood species generally known as Rosewood (especially dalbergia species) has been banned following their listing on CITE endangered species registers. This is an unfolding story and has been causing upsets for our suppliers - the species were added to a watch list in October 2016 and to a full listing only weeks later - but it has implications for our dealings so far with Veritas in Canada, who are switching their Bubinga - Guibourtia spp - handle products to Torrified Maple and Marples in Sheffield who have switched already from using  plantation East Indian Rosewood - Dalbergia latifolia - to North American black walnut - Juglans nigra.  We have quite a few Marples and Veritas lines in Rosewood and will run stocks down on a first come first served basis.
