Red pine tar for exterior coatings:
First coat: 800 ml pine tar, 120 g pigment, 120 ml balsamic turpentine oil.
Second and follow-up order: 960 ml pine tar, 145 g pigment
Water-based red paint:
10 litres water, 750 g wheat or rye flour, 3 kg Swedish red pigment, 300 g iron vitriol, 1 litre linseed oil, soft soap.
Stir flour into 2 litres of water until lump-free, stir into 8 litres of boiling water and cook for 15 minutes, stirring constantly, add pigment and iron vitriol, cook for a further 15 minutes, add linseed oil and a little soft soap (as an emulsifier), cook for a further 15 minutes while stirring, ready for application after cooling. Yield approx. 3-5 square metres/litre.
