For effortless planing, the shooting plane has an adjustable rear tote that can be set at a comfortable angle for use with the sole upright or facing down. Sole and running surface are exactly square to one another. The adjustable mouth has a stop-screw that retains mouth settings when you open the movable toe, e.g. to clean the mouth. This ensures that you can quickly return to the set position. The bed is skewed 20° to the sole to reduce cut resistance and leave a clean finish. Ideal cutting angle of 37° for shooting end grain.
