The latest shear scraper from McNaughton has all the innovation, heft and build quality expected from one of the world's most original makers. This rig deals in large measure with the need to finish the bottoms of closed forms - deep bowls etc - because a scraper of this style effectively becomes a cutting tool.

The multi axis scraper allows great flexibility in the presentation of the cutting edge in both rotation and tilt and working above and below centre.

Supplied as an assembly of shank and tip, 875gms in total

The SHANK is made from a massive 22 mm OD steel steel bar and is 250mm long not counting the bit in the handle. These dimensions rule out any flex. To assist with orientation the shank has two adjacent tool rest  flats milled at 90 degrees to each other along its length. The handle end fits the 16mm socket of any of the Kelton handles.

The HEAD has 360 degree rotation in the shank end and a tilt of plus or minus 15 degrees.

The HSS TIP is a full 5mm thick and around 40mm wide. It has well ground top and bottom flats which will polish easily and, ex factory, a flat ground 12.5 degree undercut angle on both the straight and rounded faces.  The shape offers a straight side for working outside and curved face for inside work.  Spare cutters and alternate shapes in the pipeline.
