The head screw rivet is a simple but effective fastening method that is used on a wide range of leather projects.

They are also called button studs because in the past they were used as a fastener on the emergency kit bag for the fire brigade’s axes.

The best-known use of this type of closure, however, is on old cartridge pockets, which is why it is also referred to as a cartridge pouch clasp.
