Using rare-earth magnets with our counterbored zinc-plated steel cups and washers is an excellent way to make a wide range of fastening systems, such as closures in cabinet doors or box lids. Mounting magnets in cups increases their attraction and provides a convenient way to set them into wood or other materials. Countersunk to accept a mounting screw, our steel washers provide a contact point for the magnet to adhere to on the adjacent surface.
We offer matching sets of magnets, cups and washers at a discount of up to 25% compared to the individual prices. The three smaller sets include four magnets each, 1/4", 3/8" or 1/2" in diameter, and four matching cups and washers. The three larger sizes come in sets of two magnets, 5/8", 3/4" or 1" in diameter, with two matching cups and washers. The cup for the 1/4" magnet has a ridged outer surface to press-fit into a 3/8" dia. hole.
All other cups and washers have countersunk screw holes for surface mounting or flush-mounting in counterbored holes. The cups for the 3/8" and 1/2" magnets are countersunk for a #4 flat-head screw. The cups for the 3/4" and 1" magnets are countersunk for a # 10 screw. The washers for the three smaller sizes of magnets (1/4", 3/8" and 1/2") are countersunk for a # 4 screw. The washers for the four larger sizes of magnets (3/4" and 1") are countersunk for a # 10 screw.
