Tansu (the Japanese word for “trunk”) refers to a variety of trunks, chests, boxes and storage cabinetry popular in Japan from about 1650 to 1920. Combining the skills of the cabinetmaker, blacksmith and lacquer artist, Tansu can run the gamut from simple unadorned cabinetry to ornate chests using 100 or more pieces of hardware.

Made with detailed edges and corners, these painted black two- and three-sided corners are made from 0.5mm thick steel and are mounted with escutcheon pins (not included). Leaf lengths are 32mm
