Corner chisels are used for truing corners and general clean-up.

These two are milled from solid bars of steel. The 3/8" is 5 1/2" to the shoulder and 10" long overall. The 1" chisel is 9 3/8" to the shoulder and 18 1/2" long overall. For general cabinetmaking, only the 3/8" would be used.

The 1" should be used for large mortises such as those used in timber framing.
