Replacement wooden handle and knob kit for #3 to #8 Stanley / Bailey and numerous clone planes.

Note: not made by Stanley or Record. OEM British made with dark stained European beech.

Some fitting required as toe screw hole is not drilled through and the hole in the top of the handle may not be deep enough for some brass nuts.

The single 110mm screw supplied has a Stanley thread - 7/32 inch 20 tpi UNC.

FITTING NOTES

For #3 and #4 smoothing planes without a toe screw the handle supplied has a blind hole to seat over the dowel pin in the sole casting.

Because the foot of the handle is 88mm long you will have an unsightly overhang part of the handle to remove.

For #4-1/2, #5, #5-1/2, #6, #7 & #8 planes with toe screws the handle supplied is a nice fit. All that is needed is to drill the blind hole to accept the toe screw fitted on this range of planes.

The 112mm long 7/32-20 UNC handle screw included in the kit may be immediately useful for larger planes and can be cut to length for small planes which use the same thread.
